WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT VERTICAL BALERS?
What is a baler and how does it work? A baler is a machine that reduces the volume of waste and recyclables by compacting it into dense bales. The baler runs a cycle. The press plate goes down, crushes the waste and goes back up!
What types of waste can a baler compact? Orwak balers are designed for compacting cardboard, soft plastics, plastic containers, PET bottles, aluminum cans and textile with great results.
Do you have a baler with an extra wide infeed/loading gate for odd size packaging? The baler model ORWAK POWER 3820 comes with an extra wide infeed, 1500 mm, for large cardboard boxes.
What are the bale weights? Orwak’s smallest balers product lightweight 50 kg bales that can be easily handled with the bale trolley, which is included in the purchase. The largest vertical baler can generate bales weighing up to 500 kg.
What is the noise level of the Orwak balers? The main vertical baler models in the Orwak range have a noise level in the span of 62-65 dB. It is in line with the sound emission of many household appliances and for comparison, a normal conversation between people measures 60-70 dB. TOM, our automatic waste bin for public spaces is very quiet with a sound emission of only 54 dB.
Which baler is best for me? Orwak offers a wide range of balers for different waste volumes and application areas. The balers come in all sizes and with single or multiple chambers. The choice depends on the type and volume of waste you are dealing with, and our experienced sales team is happy to recommend the best compaction solution for you. Contact us for more advice!
Can Orwak balers be installed outdoors? Yes, balers can be installed outdoors under some shelter and in cold climates, the baler must be equipped with multigrade oil.
Is a baler safe to use? Safety is Orwak’s hallmark and an Orwak baler is always safe and easy to use. All our machines are CE marked and our vertical balers comply with the safety standard EN16500. They feature built-in self-monitoring safety systems, two-hand operation, monitored and coded safety-switches for a safe working environment for the operator and everyone in the vicinity.
How easy is it for regular staff to operate the baler? An Orwak baler is always safe and easy to use. When scanning the QR code on the machine, the operator will get access to the operating manual and in many cases instruction videos. The operating panel is intuitive, and an authorized service technician will train your staff when installing the baler.
Do I have to tie the bale manually? It is manual bale tying in our vertical balers, but it only takes a few minutes. Simply click on the QR code on the machine to get instructions.
How are bales tied? It is most common to use polyester straps to tie the bales, and a startup kit with rolls is always delivered with the Orwak baler, but you can also use metal bale wire in our machines.
Do you have an automated compaction solution not requiring manual bale tying? Orwak’s automated briquette presses, Brickman, compact and cut the material into dense briquettes. The compaction ratio is up to 20:1 and the briquettes require no binding. The output is automatic and the briquettes can be collected in a bin or container. For large volumes of packaging waste, we recommend Orwak’s fully automated horizontal balers.
