Dr Organic is committed to the environment and wants to ensure that its packaging is ecologically sound – recycled and recyclable – and wherever possible, the packaging is made of ocean-bound recycled plastic collected from coastlines and waterways before it reaches the ocean.
Sustainable waste disposal
In line with this strong commitment to a green future, Dr Organic was looking into sustainable waste disposal and had been researching different methods, not only to adhere to this year’s legislation change in Wales, but to go above and beyond what is now the requirement.
Baler duo – a winning concept
Challenges with waste collections made this a priority, and Orwak Easi UK provided them with two balers for the main recyclable waste streams. The small COMPACT 3075 for the polythene and the ORWAK 3500 heavy duty mill-size baler for the cardboard proved to be an ideal combination.
As always, Orwak Easi offered a free trial to ensure the recommended solutions were the right fit and they were! They only make one bale per week in each machine, but the investment is no doubt worthwhile, as it brings many benefits:

In terms of the volume reduction, Dr Organic got 23 full bags of polythene into one, slim 60 kg bale and 16 x 1100-liter bins full of cardboard into one, 500 kg mill-size bale! That was an incredible amount of air being transported around in bin trucks before the baler investment. Compact Is Impact!
