We warmly congratulate our colleague Victor Lindgren on his success when winning the 10 m Air Rifle World Cup Final in Doha this weekend! It is described in the sports media as a historic Swedish victory and this is the most significant title in Victor’s career since the World Championship gold in 2023.
It has been an intense season and it is only a couple of weeks since Victor won the silver medal in the World Championship in Cairo, where he was only one shot from winning gold and where he achieved the highest points he ever scored in an international championship.
Victor excelled and performed at top level, when he went up against the world’s other best shooters and won gold in the Season World Cup Final in Doha. Victor admits that his pulse was racing in the final, but the excitement turned into an enormous sense of relief when he realized that the competition was over.
Despite World Champion and Olympic medals and great successes in many competitions, Victor has never previously won a medal in a regular World Cup competition and it is now revenge to win the entire season final. Victor:
“I think I had the margins a bit against me in the World Cups, decimals away from a medal a few times. I like challenging situations against the very best, working mentally and controlling my shooting.”
