Last Saturday it was time for Team Rynkeby, the charity cycling team that rides to Paris every summer for the benefit of seriously ill children, to reveal the results of this year’s sponsorships and to hand over the check to the Children’s Cancer Foundation. The contribution reached a new all-time high!
The 16 Swedish cycling teams, almost 200 people, met up on Saturday morning in Jönköping in Sweden for a symbolic joint bike ride of 35 km before they rode in and gathered around the stage in the city park, where Team Rynkeby handed over the check of 41.1 million SEK (almost 4 million EUR) to the Secretary-General of the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation.
It is a record amount since the collection started in 2011 and makes Team Rynkeby the largest individual donor to the foundation. Mr. Larsson, The Secretary-General of the Childhood Cancer Foundation expressed his gratitude and felt truly touched by the commitment and compassion of the team and the sponsors.
“It is a joint struggle to improve and save lives and we at Orwak, as one of the gold sponsors, feel proud to be part of this project and we are happy that the Childhood Cancer Foundation receives a record-breaking contribution to their admirable quest to eradicate childhood cancer.”
