Super99 is a leading grocery chain in Panama with a strong national footprint and numerous branches. It has grown along with the country’s communities and today it offers a wide range of products, from groceries to home goods. To optimize the packaging waste management and promote recycling, Orwak Power balers are installed at the first locations.
Business growth hand in hand with social welfare
Since its first Warehouse 99 in Colón, the company has managed to consolidate 49 supermarkets throughout Panama and generate employment for more than 6,000 employees directly, which makes it one of the country’s largest private employers. Furthermore, Super99 indirectly supports more than 15,000 other jobs through its network of local and international suppliers. This development shows that business growth can go hand in hand with social welfare and community service.
Powerful cardboard compaction brings value to the business and the environment
Grupo Zoe, Orwak representative in Central America, has announced the sale and installation of 5 units of the Orwak Power 3820, a baler which comes with an extra wide loading gate and has a huge appetite for cardboard boxes, to Super99. The Paseo Montemadero branch in Pacora and the store in Costa del Este were the first to receive the balers.

This marks the beginning of a collaboration that seeks to bring real value to the planet and to people, as the Orwak balers not only improve the operation but also strengthen environmental responsibility and create a safer, cleaner and more efficient work environment for the employees in each store.
Balers provide supreme compaction benefits for Super99
- More responsible waste management
- Reduced carbon footprint through reduced volume and transportation
- Saving space in the back room that translates into cleaner and more orderly operations
- Less physical effort for staff, improving ergonomics and safety
- More efficient processes that allow you to spend time on higher-value tasks
Orwak is committed to occupational safety, and our balers meet high standards. Safety comes first, always, when designing and manufacturing our machines. This is what we refer to as “Advanced Simplicity”, meaning that all our machines are safe and simple to use. We continue to move forward, convinced that technology can also be a bridge to a more sustainable, humane and responsible future.
