Orwak entered Japan in the 90s, it quickly developed into an important market and Orwak even received the Japan Export Trade Award in year 2000 for its efforts. The sales company Orwak Japan was established in 2013, and a dedicated orange team is promoting the Orwak solutions to customers in many different industries today. A high-quality Swedish product naturally represents a special value for Swedish companies abroad. Orwak Japan recently joined an event at the Swedish Ambassador’s residence, and it was an excellent opportunity to connect with Swedish companies established in Japan.
The Swedish Embassy in collaboration with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (SCCJ) arranged the gathering to welcome 11 interns through the MIRAI & SCCJ internship project. The project bridge SCCJ member companies with Swedish Master’s students promoting a cross-cultural business exchange. Ararad Sarkissian from Linnaeus University and Lana Milanovic from Jönköping University in Sweden are two of those participants and they are joining Orwak Japan for their internship this fall.
MORE THAN 30 SUCCESSFUL YEARS IN JAPAN AND A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD
Orwak’s presence in Japan is dating back to the 90s and it started out with small machines, but the classic multi-chamber 5070-HDC has become and remained a favorite for many application areas over the years. It facilitates separation of different types of recyclables at source and it deals effectively with tough materials like PET bottles and alu cans. Therefore, the 5070-HDC is highly appreciated and can be found for example in manufacturing industries, at schools, recycling centers and on remote islands, where it takes cares of waste and recyclables from a whole community.

For the past couple of years, Orwak Japan has also successfully introduced the fully automated briquette presses Brickman in the logistics center segment. Driven by strong e-commerce expansion and government-backed automation initiatives, the logistics center and warehousing segment in Japan is growing fast.
GATHERING AT THE AMBASSADOR’S RESIDENCE
