In less than a month, this powerful tool is already making a difference. In just one day, two employees compacted 750 kg of cardboard boxes, optimizing space, time, and recycling logistics. When putting it in perspective, that represents approximately 13 trees not cut down!

The representative at the collection center expressed gratitude for the baler’s efficiency and capacity, highlighting the positive impact it had in such a short time. Marco Villani, Managing Director of Grupo Zoe, feel happy and grateful to contribute to an optimized and sustainable waste and recycling solution in the rare and beautiful environment of Peninsula Papagayo.

The eco luxury five-star hotel Four Seasons in Peninsula Papagayo has also invested in a 5070-HDC baler with three chambers for its waste streams. Cardboard, plastic bags and aluminum cans are sorted and compacted in three fractions and this recycling solution contributes to Four Season’s environmental commitment.

The baler not only optimizes waste management but also reinforces the focus on sustainability and respect for the natural environment, values that are important for an iconic world-renowned hotel chain like Four Seasons & Resorts.

The orange baler aligns with green goals

Implementing a baler that enables and encourages waste sorting and recycling also aligns with Peninsula Papagayo’s sustainability plan, which includes efforts in resource management, energy efficiency – with an ISO 50001-certified energy management system in place – and waste reduction.

Furthermore, it helps the community fulfilling the Costa Rican law 8839, the “Law for an Integrated Management of Waste,” that since 2010 provides a legal framework for managing all types of waste, including ordinary, special, and hazardous waste. Its primary goals are to regulate waste management comprehensively and promote efficient use of resources.

These results are deeply motivating and reaffirm that Orwak is an essential solution for responsible waste management, regardless of the size of the operation – from small businesses to large establishments.

“Compact is impact” or “Compactar es impactar”, as Marco Villani says!
